MEET CAT SCHWARTZ

Catherine (Cat) Schwartz is a trailblazer at the intersection of technology, media, and entertainment. Known for her ability to translate complex digital trends into accessible insights, Cat has built a career as a trusted voice on TV, YouTube, radio, and in print, where she has educated and inspired audiences on everything from emerging gadgets to the evolution of social media culture.

Cat’s career began during the early boom of consumer technology as a co-host on TechTV, the first national, live, computer help call-in show, alongside Leo Laporte and Chris Pirillo. Broadcasting five days a week, she became one of the original influencers in the tech space, earning a loyal fan base that has continued to follow her journey across platforms. From there, she launched The HiTechMommy, one of the very first tech-centric parenting blogs, quickly gaining recognition as a go-to expert for modern families navigating the digital landscape. Her regular guest appearances on The TODAY Show and other talk shows across the country solidified her reputation as a trusted media personality who could simplify technology for everyday use.

This visibility opened doors into the corporate world, where Cat became a consultant for Fortune 100 and 500 companies, guiding product launches, media positioning, and brand storytelling. Her unique blend of on-camera charisma and strategic marketing insight soon led eBay to recruit her as their “Gadget & Toy Director,” a hybrid role that combined brand messaging, digital marketing, and media spokesperson work. At eBay, Cat deepened her expertise in the art of developing, writing, and delivering precise brand narratives to resonate with both press and consumers.

Her passion for startups and innovation next brought her to Creative Artists Agency’s (CAA) incubated platform, WhoSay, where she served as Creative Director. There, she was responsible for onboarding and managing over 300 A- and B-list celebrities and influencers, ensuring their digital presence aligned with both personal branding and audience engagement. She also collaborated closely with product developers, advocating for client needs and shaping new features that supported the fast-growing influencer economy.

In parallel, Cat expanded her role as an educator, becoming a professor of Social Media and Influencer Marketing at Relativity University in Los Angeles. At the same time, she launched her boutique advisory, THE DGTL NTWRK, where she worked hands-on with A-list clients including Jamie Foxx, Chris Bosh, Charlie Sheen, John Stamos, and many others. Through this work, she designed and executed digital strategies that helped celebrities take ownership of their online identities and build stronger connections with their fans.

Cat’s expertise became especially invaluable during the rise of a new wave of digital-first creators. Drawing on her CAA background and deep network, she advised many of the most-followed Vine stars—including KingBach, Amanda Cerny, Cameron Dallas, Logan Paul, and Jake Paul—helping them navigate platform shifts, brand opportunities, and long-term growth strategies. Her early guidance during the uncertain days following Vine’s shutdown not only sustained their careers but also positioned them as enduring forces in the digital entertainment industry. Jake Paul even credited her in his book, You Gotta Want It, highlighting the impact of her mentorship. (see below)

Currently, Cat serves as Senior Advisor on Influencer Acquisition and Execution Strategy for MixMe, an AI-powered social network developed by RealNetworks in Seattle while she continues to bridge the worlds of technology, media, and culture, leveraging her unique blend of experience as a broadcaster, strategist, professor, and advisor. Whether guiding global corporations, celebrities, or rising digital talent, she has established herself as a rare hybrid: a media personality with the strategic acumen to shape brand legacies in a constantly evolving digital landscape.
